On 7/24/18 at 6:53 p.m. the Meeker county sheriffs Office responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 545th Ave and 210th St. in Danielson Township. Thomas Huisman, 29 of Atwater, was driving a 2003 Ford F350, east on 210th Street, when he struck a 2000 Chevy Cavalier being driven by Justin Voss, 17, of Grove City, who was driving north on 545th Ave. Voss was airlifted to HCMC by Life link with non-life threatening injuries. Huisman was not injured. God Cross Ambulance and Grove City Rescue assisted on scene.
42 year old Allen Shepard of Minneapolis pled guilty in a plea deal Wednesday in court in Willmar. Shepard pleaded guilty to a felony count of threats of violence, with 7
other charges being dropped in the arrangement. He entered a Norgaard plea, meaning he doesn’t remember circumstances but agrees that the state has enough to get a conviction. He was arrested last year after allegedly attacking a Willmar couple. Sentencing will be in September.
Deangelo Monette of Willmar was sentenced to 57 months in prison yesterday. He pleaded guilty to one count of third degree criminal sexual conduct involving a 6 year old girl. Other charges were dropped. Along with the prison sentence he has to register as a predatory
offender and pay fines and fees of $1765.00, and serve ten years on conditional release once out of prison.
According to the MN DNR, wildlife artists can submit entries for the 2019 MN Migratory Waterfowl Stamp contest from August 20th thru August 31st. The stamp for hunting is also sold as a collectible. Revenue from the sales goes to waterfowl management and habitat work. The gadwall is the only eligible species for depiction on the stamp. For more info, log on at mndnr.gov/stamps
