Most crop experts are now agreeing that Minnesota’s crop yields this year are likely to be highly variable across the state, corn in particular. The latest USDA report has corn at 191 bushels per acre, which would be the third highest ever, and not far off last year’s 194.
Meanwhile, private analysts show corn anywhere from 178 to 190 bushels per acre. The low yield was 158 bushels per acre back in 2014. A number of schools are Minnesota and the nation will have events coinciding with walk to school day. If your school is putting an event together, remember to register it on line at walkbiketoschool.org.
