33 year old Michelle Patzold of Litchfield and 32 year old Ben Berry of Lester Prairie are facing charges in connection with an alleged assault and robbery that happened in the rural Grove City area at the end of September. Charges against Berry include felony first degree aggravated robbery and charges against Patzold include felony aiding and abetting first degree aggravated robbery.
Also, a warrant has been issued for a 29 year old Grove City woman who is wanted on felony first degree aggravated robbery. 20 year old Tre Ertl of Litchfield has already been charged in the case. Ertl and Berry are being held in the Meeker County Jail.

43 year old Clause Tate of Echo rolled his vehicle yesterday on Redwood County Road 9 just west of Belview. The Redwood County Sheriff’s got a call about the accident just before noon yesterday. Tate suffered minor injuries and his vehicle was totaled.

According to Police and sheriff’s Departments around Minnesota and locally, some people just don’t get the idea of “buckling up”. State law requires everyone in a vehicle to be buckled up or in a correct child safety seat. In a recent two week span of “extra seatbelt enforcement”, one man was pulled over for his 10th seat belt violation. Another who was pulled over said he was texting while driving-paying his fine for not being belted up. 4610 people were cited over the enforcement campaign, and another 140 tickets were issued for child seat violations. The campaign ran from September 17th thru the 29th•

 

Tim Miller and Lyle Koenen will be debating in Benson Tuesday October 16th at the Swift County Law Enforcement Center. The two are running for the district 17 A House of Representatives seat. The one hour debate will begin at 6:30 pm.

Central Community transits joint powers board will meet tomorrow (Friday) at 9 am at the board room on 22nd Street Southwest in Willmar. The Director’s update will include talk on the 5 year plan, the volunteer driver program, staffing and financials and ridership. Also on the agenda-the punch pass design, dispatching software update, talk on the employee health insurance, and a closed session for part of the meeting concerning labor negotiation strategy.
