A teenage girl from Morgan was accidentally shot yesterday while hunting. Reports say that 16 year old Nadia Meyers was hit in the leg yesterday when someone she was hunting with fire a shot at a rabbit, missed it and hit her instead. She is expected to be ok.

A motorcycle accident injured a man southwest of Cold Spring on Saturday afternoon around 3:45. 40 year old Bryan Bemboom of Pine City was driving on a gravel road at a
slow speed when the soft shoulder of the road caused the cycle to tip. It landed on Benboom’s leg. He was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

The court of appeals rejected claims by 52 year old Layne Gerhardson of Willmar that there was prosecutor misconduct and abuse in Kandiyohi County District court. The appeals court denied his request for a hearing. Gerhardson was convicted of attempted assault and first degree aggravated robbery in a case stemming from an incident in February of last year. The court agreed in finding that comments by the prosecutor were unlikely to influence the verdict of the jury, who all agreed with the verdict.

Another candidate forum will be held in Willmar today at the conference center. House District 17B candidates Incumbent Dave Baker and challenger Anita Flowe, and Willmar school board candidates Incumbent Mary Amon, along with Jay Lawton, Teresa Larsen, Michelle Marotzke and Mike O’Brien will be on hand.
