A 45 year old New London woman is in custody on 1st degree controlled substance sales charges as well as meth crimes involving children after a search warrant was executed at her home in New London on Monday night. The CEE-VI drug and gang task force found over 2 ounces of meth at the home and other items indicative of drug sales. At the time of the search a ten year old child was at the home. The child was removed from the home by Kandiyohi County Family Services.
Monday night Litchfield Police charged an 18 year old New London man for not having insurance, expired tabs, instruction permit violation, and possession of marijuana in a vehicle and drug paraphernalia. He was pulled over on U.S. highways 12/22.
Late Friday night Litchfield Police arrested a 30 year old Litchfield man on 4th degree DWI, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and 5th degree possession of a controlled substance. The arrest was made at a North Sibley location.
A one vehicle accident last Saturday near Detroit Lakes took the life of 24 year old Brandon Rounsville of Detroit Lakes. Rounsville lost control on a snow and ice covered curve and rolled his car, coming to a rest in a swampy area. Rounsville did not have a seatbelt on and was thrown from the vehicle.
Kandiyohi County officials are giving landowners more time to come into compliance with Minnesota’s new buffer law. Wet weather created problems in getting out into the field, and the November first compliance deadline has been pushed back to December 31st. Landowners who are in compliance with the new law do have to communicate with the Kandiyohi County drainage authority by the end of the year.
Willmar Police and the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Department report bogus bills being passed. A businessperson’s deposit to a New London Bank had fake $20’s. Counterfeit $20’s were also passed at a business in Willmar.
Police report that a suitcase with items inside it were found in a wildlife management area by a deer hunter this past Sunday. There were phone numbers listed on it but the numbers did not work. The suitcase was found near 82nd Avenue and 60th street northeast near Spicer.
