3 people are in custody after a search of their home in Clara City. Chippewa County Deputies, Clara City Police and the CEE-VI drug and gang task force search a home in the 200 block of 1st St. SW and found meth, marijuana and a handgun. 3 were arrested and they are looking for a 4th person who lives there.

A crash between a semi and an SUV took the life of the SUV driver, a 30 year old woman who was 5 months pregnant. Her unborn child did not survive either. The woman had stopped at the intersection of county roads 133 and 4 near Sartell, then pulled into the intersection and into the path of the semi, whose driver, Cory Planck of Star City Indiana, was not injured.

Names were released from this past Sunday’s crash that took two lives near Avon. 72 year old Robert Keppers and 66 year old Mary Keppers were in a horse & buggy rig when it was hit from behind by a pickup on county road 9 driven by 23 year old Marc Knapp. The Keppers lost their lives. The crash remains under investigation.

The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners meet today with the Human services meeting at 9, the board meeting a ten. On the agenda, the Willmar Wye railroad project agreements, renewal of the solid waste haulers license, the contract approval with the Household hazardous waste facility in Willmar. The commissioners will set their salary and per diem for 2019 as well. The meeting will be at the Health and Human Services building in Willmar.
