Monday afternoon round 1:45 pm the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a house fire on County Road 26 in the Sauk Centre area. The home’s owner, Bob Dean said that flames were traveling up the wall and they could not put it out. The house was severely damaged, and the fire is thought to have been started by an electrical issue. The Sauk Centre and Villard fire departments were on the scene along with other rescue and ambulance personnel. There were no injuries.
Renville County deputies were called to an accident last Saturday afternoon around 2 pm. A one vehicle rollover happened 3 miles SE of Franklin on county road 26. 18 year old Dave Jacobson of Redwood Falls lost control on the icy road and his SUV rolled into the ditch. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the Redwood Falls Hospital.
State Rep Dave Baker of Willmar this week announced his committee assignments for the coming legislative sessions. Baker was named to 4 committees, including Energy and Climate Finance and Policy, Health and Human Services Finance, Education Policy, and Rules and Legislative Administration. The Minnesota Dept. of Agriculture has announced that the Jennie-O Turkey Store is recalling raw ground turkey due to salmonella contamination. A number of one to three pound packages including regular, taco seasoned, Italian seasoned and Stater Bros. all natural have been recalled with 11/12/18′ and 11/13/18′ use or freeze by dates on them. An establishment number of EST .P-579 can be found on the side of the tray or inside the USDA mark of inspection.The meats had been shipped to retail outlets nationwide.
