Wisconsin police say 13-year-old Jayme Closs, who went missing in October, has been found alive. Closs went missing on October 15th when her parents were found shot to death in Barron County. The Barron County Sheriff says a suspect has been taken into custody, he is 21 year old Jake Patterson who is also the suspect in the murder of James and Denise Closs and is being held on suspicion of 2nd degree murder and Kidnapping. Closs¬† escaped from her captors and was able to seek help from a person out walking her dog. That person brought her to a neighbor’s house where they called 911 with the news that they had Jayme Closs with them.

65 year old Peggy Eddy of Litchfield suffered non-life threatening injuries when she ran a stop sign at county road highway and highway 7 and hit a semi. The ‘rig was driven by 32 year old Jared Robuck of Carver. He was not injured. Debris from the crash hit the car of 79 year old Stan Freese of Murdock, who was not injured. The accident happened shortly before 9:30 yesterday morning.

An independent review of harassment claims against former Montevideo Police Chief Adam Christopher found no basis for criminal charges. Christopher had a restraining order against him from an 18 year old woman after she said she felt threatened by hundreds of text messages, some of a sexual nature. Christopher is challenging the restraining order with a civil trial court date on February 26th in Morris.

According to Johns Hopkins Researchers, Americans are spending more than twice as much for health care than people in other developed countries, and more than double what they used to spend. The University reports that the amount spent per person was nearly
$10,000.00 in 2016. 117 more than the year 2000, when researchers first collected such data. The report went on to say that it was not that Americans were using more medicines or seeing more doctors than people in other countries. Numbers from Johns Hopkins showed that everything rose drastically in price, from salaries and pharmaceuticals to administrative costs, and medical services. Number crunches also showed that skyrocketing insurance premiums have more than doubled in the past decade as well despite efforts to curb the cost.

On January 11, 2019, at approximately 7:59 AM, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office¬† received a 911 call from a gas station/convenience store/auto repair shop in Fairfax, MN. The 911 caller indicated that a person inside the office had been shot. Subsequent information was received indicating that suspect had been disarmed and that the victim had been shot in the hand and face. Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers immediately located and arrested the suspect, a 60-year-old male from Fairfax, MN. The suspect was not an employee at the business. The victim, a 55-year-old male employee of the business, had suffered a gunshot wound to the hand and face, was treated at the scene for his injuries and later flown to North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale, MN. The male’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. Officers and deputies remain at the scene and are continuing their investigation. Agencies responding to the scene include the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Fairfax Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Fairfax Fire and Ambulance, North Ambulance-Redwood Falls and North Air Care.The suspect is being held in the Renville County Jail pending formal charges by the Renville County Attorney’s Office.
