40 year old Faustino Salinas of Danube was sentenced to jail followed by supervised release in Renville County District Court. Salinas threatened a member of his family with a knife and threatened to kill other family members and himself in the incident last year. He’ll served a staggered number of jail stays followed by supervised release and other conditions.

The Renville County EDA is accepting applications for the Business Innovation grant program until this July 10th . The 26th annual Relay for Life off Kandiyohi County will be held Friday July 19th at the new location this year, Bill Taunton Stadium. Check in and on-site registration is at 4 pm. Highway 29 north of Glenwood will be closed today as crews work on completing storm sewer repairs near 2nd avenue, about two blocks north of the highway 28,28 and 104 intersection. Work should be done by around 6:00 tonight. Delays are expected as highway 28/29 between Starbuck & “Glenwood remains closed to thru traffic as the road is widened and resurfaced. Minnesota hunters and farmers soon might have the tools to test deer for CWD when out in the field. The DNR says that scientists are just months away from making it happen. The tool would be hand held. This past legislative session, $1.8 million was approved to fund the creation of a test to check for chronic wasting disease within hours instead of days.

41 year old Craig Thoennes was found dead Saturday on his farm southwest of Parkers Prairie in Douglas County. Thoennis had been trampled by cattle. His body was found near a shed in the cow yard, where two cows & a bull were roaming free.

68 year old Greg Martin of Belgrade was injured in a crash on highway 12 west of Cokato yesterday morning around 9:30 am. He was pulling a trailer with his pickup and crossed the center line, hitting A vehicle driven by 62 year old Judy Hansen of Becker. Hanson and a passenger were treated for non-life threatening injuries. Martin was not hurt.
