From the Swift County Sheriffs Office:

On 1-30-20 at 6:14 pm a Semi hauling Anhydrous Ammonia was coming off of Highway 12 onto 60th St SE to deposit a full load at the Koch plant West of Murdock. While crossing the railroad tracks the semi was struck by a BNSF Train headed Westbound. The train hit the rear end of the Anhydrous tank causing it to separate from the semi and roll. The driver was identified as Wayne Allen Nelson age 60 of Fargo ND. Nelson did not sustain any injuries, was evaluated by EMS, and released on scene. The Anhydrous tank sustained heavy damage however there was no leak and the Semi and trailer were eventually towed from scene. Assisting agencies were Swift County Sheriff’s Office, Murdock Fire, Benson Fire, Kerkhoven Fire, DeGraff Fire, Murdock First responders, Kerkhoven Ambulance, and State Patrol.
