From the Kandiyohi County Fair Board:
“It is with great disappointment; The Kandiyohi County Fair Board announces the cancellation of the 2020 Kandiyohi County Fair. We were hoping to not make this kind of announcement. But considering the current conditions and uncertainties of COVID-19 restrictions the board felt this was the best decision for the Kandiyohi County Fair and everyone involved in our fair.
While cancelling the fair was not an easy decision, the board agrees, it is the right thing to do. Our priority is the safety and health of our community, volunteers, vendors, carnival, 4-H, and FFA youth and our exhibitors. We’ve made this decision early understanding requirements during the COVID-19 Pandemic, including physical distancing and frequent sanitizing will not change in enough time to give our community a meaningful and enjoyable Fair experience. Asking our vendors, exhibitors, carnival and volunteers to wait longer for unknown and very unlikely changes to these restriction is unacceptable. We realize that many involved in our Fair have preparations and expenses that need to be addressed soon.
We know this announcement is upsetting for our supporters and participants who look forward to the Kandiyohi County Fair. It is also unimaginable for the Fair Board members as well. This has been a heartbreaking decision.
Again, our main concern is for the safety and health of all. We appreciate your support,
understanding and patience, as everyone is experiencing many summertime losses. 2020
would have been the 120th Kandiyohi County Fair. We look forward to celebrating 121 years
next year at the 2021 Kandiyohi County Fair August 11-14th.”
THANK YOU! To our community for your continued support of a “Family Tradition” the Kandiyohi County Fair!
Everyone’s Goin’ August 11-14th 2021
