The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is looking for public comment on extending the permit of Willmar Poultry Farms, near Kerkhoven.

            The current facility is authorized to house 100,000 Turkeys under five pounds or 500 animal units (AU) in three total confinement barns with in-door manure packs. The three current barns will be eliminated from the facility. The proposed issuance will authorize the construction of one 650’ x 182’ new total-confinement turkey barn with in-door manure pack with a capacity of 54,000 Turkeys.

            The public may submit written comment, petition to hold a public information meeting or hold a contested case hearing through July 27th. MPCA has made a preliminary determination to approve a one year extension.

            The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is taking public comment on extending the permit for the Bushmills Ethanol facility in Atwater.

            Bushmills Ethanol currently produces Dried Distiller’s Grain with Solubles (DDGS), wetcake and corn oil as co-products. The Bushmills facility is permitted to produce annually up to 100 million gallons of undenatured ethanol and 330,000 tons of DDGS. The facility is authorized to receive up to 1.075 million tons of grain per year, and load out up to 7.5 million gallons of denaturant.

            The public may submit written comment, petition to hold a public information meeting or hold a contested case hearing through July 23rd. MPCA has made a preliminary determination to approve a two year extension.

            The Minnesota pollution Control Agency is looking for public comment modifying the permit for Ampe Farms, in Belgrade.

            The permittee has proposed to modify the previously approved manure management plan (MMP) by including an additional field that was not included in the original MMP. The new land application acres total 131.27 acres and are located in Section 33, Crow River Township, Stearns County.

            The public may submit written comment, petition to hold a public information meeting or hold a contested case hearing through July 21st. MPCA has made a preliminary determination to approve a six month extension.
