Republican State Representative Tim Miller of Prinsburg offered his reaction to Governor Tim Walz’s plan to reopen schools in the fall, which was unveiled yesterday. Miller said the governor’s plan “does not help families and kids return to normalcy. The Governor’s plan is a puzzling mess in which schools in some counties remain fully open while schools in other counties remain closed.”
Miller believes the education plan “will harm rural Minnesota” by not taking into account schools that serve multiple counties. He was also critical that the plan requires distance learning to be made available to any student who requests it regardless of location or prevalence of COVID-19 in their community.
