Montevideo School Superintendent Dr. Luther Heller said it was both exciting and enlightening to learn that the District would be able to drive their decision on reopening schools in the fall based on local data of coronavirus cases. He said the Start-of-the-Year Plan will be released the week of August 10.

“With our most current data, Montevideo schools would be looking at the possibility that all students would be starting school in person at the start of the coming school year,” he said.

Heller said there is still planning work to do, to see if requirements can be met for social distancing and transporting students into school.
