Yellow Medicine County received CARES Act funding from the federal government through allocations made by Governor Walz and has chosen to provide grants to Yellow Medicine County businesses and nonprofits organizations with COVID related expenses.
These grants are designed to provide immediate relief to businesses and non-profits to help them remain in business through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Applications will be available on the county website starting Monday, August 17, 2020. Grant awards will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.
There will be several rounds of grants:
- Due by 4:00 p.m. on September 15, 2020: Maximum award limit of $20,000 for businesses and nonprofits organizations with under 50 employees located in Yellow Medicine County (total of full time and part time) as of March 1, 2020;
- Due by 4:00 p.m. on October 15, 2020: The second round for any eligible businesses and non-profit organizations with no maximum grant limit amount.
All Yellow Medicine County businesses and non-profits organizations with a physical location, whether owned or leased, in Yellow Medicine County, and who have COVID-19 related expenses that have not been reimbursed already through another state or federal program, are encouraged to review the complete guidelines and application process on the county website www.co.ym.mn.gov starting August 17.
