With perfect weather, the U.S. Highway 12 bridge deck pour went without a hitch on the Willmar Wye project. The Department of Transportation reported that it is making steady progress on the Highway 40 bridge: the west pier is complete, and the east pier just needs the pier cap to be constructed. Grading operations are shifting to the U.S. Highway 12 tie-ins and the local road connections. Paving operations are expected to begin in September.

As crews are grading on the ends of the new alignment for US 12, and for some of the local road tie-ins, the DOT has closed the construction site to live traffic. Stay alert for construction traffic and trucks entering and leaving the project.
