The Montevideo School District is starting September with a Distance Learning model after they were notified four staff members — including 2 at the middle school, 1 at the high school and 1 at Ramsey Elementary — tested positive for COVID-19. They had been quarantining as a precaution. None of these individuals has been in any of the school buildings since at least August 28.

In a letter to Montevideo school families, Montevideo Schools Superintendent Luther Heller said the district is working with the Minnesota Department of Health and Countryside Public Health to monitor and control the situation. Heller wrote that he was proud of the cooperation between district staff, students and parents that allowed for “the quick shift to distance learning to protect the health and safety of our school family and broader community.”
