Following Governor Walz’s announcement last night for a 4-week pause in the state, Willmar’s State Representative Dave Baker is calling for financial aid for local businesses. Baker, a former restaurant owner and current hotel owner in Willmar said in a statement that the state should also consider allowing all bars, restaurants, wineries and breweries to sell to-go alcohol in up to 64-ounce containers to prevent establishments from wasting beer or other alcohol that they currently have in stock. Waiving or delaying sales tax payments and delaying loan repayment dates for businesses who received state-based or state-administered loan programs.
