WILLMAR — Kandiyohi County reported another COVID-19 death, bringing the county’s total to 23 since the beginning of the pandemic; Kandiyohi County also reported another 79 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19, for a total of 4,257 cases in the county.
In fact, all area counties reported an increase in cases.
Meeker County also reported an additional COVID-related death, bringing that county’s death toll to 10.
There were 3,570 new cases reported in the state.
Locally, Stearns County had the biggest increase, with 152 additional cases.
Meeker County reported 25 new cases. Renville County reported 19 new cases; Chippewa County reported 17 new cases; Redwood County reported 16 news cases; Lac qui Parle reported nine; Swift County reported seven new cases; Five new cases in Yellow Medicine County; Big Stone and Pope counties each reported four new cases.
The state’s cumulative number of cases is 322,312.
Health care workers account for 23,330 of the total case count.
The current total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 is 3,615
2,430 of COVID-related deaths have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities, and 2,970 of the deaths were 70 years or older.
